My Dearest Kaya,
I’m writing this in April of the year 2012, skin glowing from the kiss of the Palawan sun, head still rocking from the turbulence that jostled our tiny plane as we prepared to land back in Manila.
This is the return from a trip that was initially supposed to be about…
The Ups and Downs of Life (by [~Bryan~])
really love HK! with these walkways that they have, I can really walk for hours!
December is a busy month of the year where almost everyone are busy in their last minute Christmas shopping, never ending parties, exchange gifts, colorful decorations, and of course pigging out! It’s like all the delicious food are out during this time of the year and no one wants to resist the temptation of satisfying our cravings!
Last month my family and I were so grateful to have been treated by a family friend in one of the posh and classy restaurant in Alabang. The Sky Lounge @ Vivere.
Vivere Suites is one of the 5 star hotel in the area, where the Sky Lounge restaurant is their hot spot. Aside from the superb food that they offer, you’ll also have a nice view of the city while dining.

Happy guests! Thank you Tita Ruby for the sumptuous dinner!

I was too overwhelmed to eat and did not even bother to take some notes of different food that were served on the table. Yeah I know I will not be qualified as a food blogger nor a real blogger. ha!

ALL I KNOW lahat masarap! :) As far as I can remember the food prices range from 300+ but my fellas! all worth the price.

Loved this fresh mango juice!
Aside from the great food, cozy atmosphere, and great view, they also serenade their happy diners by playing violin and piano. You’ll feel relaxed na agad from the beginning pa lang!

Prom night. While waiting for the food to be served my Uncle Bob couldn’t help not to dance his wife because their theme song was played.

of course the dessert! I had Mango Jubilee and the rest of them had just tea. You know oldies! mahina na ang panunaw. I happily ate my dessert while lusting over the beautiful view of the night. :)
Yes, Someday.

This post is inspired by two sole sisters’ blog about their wonderful experiences in traveling. I was inspired to do my own version of it, to remind myself how grateful I am to experience traveling and accompanied by great friends who share the same passion to see the beauty of different places. :)
Baz Luhrmann’s advice to class of ‘99. Everybody’s free to wear sunscreen. Let me also share and dispense some of his advice that I truly believe in:
Advice #1: ‘TRAVEL.’

I’ve never been in to many places yet but I’m glad that I’m taking few steps to see some of the beautiful places we have here in the Philippines and abroad. Every new place that I set my foot on is a feeling of bliss and new learning. I love the panic behind the back packing game, the excitement of getting lost in a place I’ve never been, the thrill of tour, the adventure of seeking beautiful places, and the memories of the travel experience are keeping me insanely happy!
I still have a lot of places to see on my list. I’ll keep moving and keep traveling. :)
Advice #2: ‘Do one thing everyday that scares you.’

Doing something for the first time is really scary yet exciting, not to mention the things that you’ll learn from that experience! Among the things that I’ve done everyday to make my life more exciting, being alone is the best part of it. Well I learned and loved to be left alone for sometimes, especially if my mind needs a break from all the craziness of the surroundings and just enjoyed my own company. I love taking my time alone at a coffee shop with my planner scribbling my goals and random thoughts. It’s just me happily sipping my coffee and letting the people pass by, careless of the time or what people have to say about me alone in the corner enjoying my own sanity. ha!
Next in line: To travel alone. sounds crazy or liberating right? well I’m excited for this one.
Advice #3:Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.

I have that feeling of LOST and want to be found. In this world that life has a lot to offer I find myself lost and don’t know what to do in life. I realized it’s because I want to do a lot of things and worrying too much of my future. So I learned to take things slow and just enjoy everything that I’m doing right now. Instead of questioning a lot, just do happy things everyday and answers will just come in RIGHT time. Let HIM hear your thoughts and ask to guide you as you go along chasing what you want.
I learned to wait patiently in things that I want and just cling into my faith to HIM and believe that He will guide me in the right way at the right time.
Advice #4:Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.

Enjoy being young! screw the imperfections, flaws or worrying about your age! Just have fun and always feel young at heart.

As long as you can still do the numerous jump shots, you are perfectly fine dear. *haha*
Advice #5:Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on.
I have been blessed with such great friends ever since my childhood days. Some of them have gone and left the friendship and memories behind and I’m glad that some of them have stayed with me and have seen my life in different aspects. I’m thankful that we managed to keep the friendship better and stronger. :)

My high school friends.

My College buddies.

My IHG family. :)
We don’t know ‘til when we’re going to hold on as friends but who cares? as long as the friendship is there it can last long. I can say that these people are the precious ones that I hold on to. :) Even some of them I hardly see but whenever we get the chance to meet up, I’m happy to say that the connection is still there, and that connection means the value of friendship.
Advice #6: And of course WEAR SUNSCREEN. :)

The other night, I had a conversation with a young woman who had a number of decisions ahead of her, one of which is whether she would go to grad school or travel the world.
I told her to travel. Hands down. No excuse. Just go.
She sighed. “Yeah, but…”
Never were more fatal words…
